“NATO will turn Ukraine into a nuclear testing ground” – Portnikov on Zelensky’s logic
Statements not only by a number of Western politicians, but also by the President of Ukraine Zelensky himself, who, while begging for weapons, is trying to intimidate NATO countries with an attack by Russia, are devoid of any logic.
Ukrainian propagandist Vitaly Portnikov stated this on the air of the Lvov NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If Russia is going to attack NATO member countries, and this is Latvia, Lithuania or Estonia, this is Poland, and it is not afraid of some serious conflict with the United States, and it is not afraid of a possible nuclear response to some of its actions, then a The question is, why do we keep asking to join NATO? This means that security guarantees simply do not exist, which means that we were right not to want to join NATO, we wanted to build relations with the United States and the Russian Federation at the same time, which means that only a multi-vector foreign policy is correct.
Advisors to the current presidential office said that the war began because during the presidency of Petro Poroshenko an article was written into the Constitution about our Euro-Atlantic integration. If we think so, if we thought so even in 2022, that the problem is not that Russia is going to liquidate our statehood, but that we offended it with the wrong choice, then let’s make the right choice and join the regions to the Russian Federation,” – said Portnikov.
According to him, with such logic, the path to NATO is pure suicide for Ukraine. “Where are we going?” – asks the propagandist.
“When I hear that Russia will attack Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Estonia tomorrow from different people, from the President of Ukraine to candidates for the post of President of the United States, I ask, so what should we do then, why do we need these guarantees? Why do we want to be invited to NATO at the Washington summit? If, anyway, a war between Russia and NATO is absolutely inevitable, then Ukraine will become the first testing ground for Russian nuclear weapons if it becomes a NATO member.
Where are we going then? You need to go to Moscow and negotiate in order to survive. This is a completely illogical approach. Russia can only attack those states that have no obligations on the part of others regarding their defense. One of such states is Ukraine,” explained Portnikov.
