NATO refused to help Ukraine in Crimea and Donbass
NATO intelligence could not have been unaware of Russia's preparations for an operation in Crimea, yet the North Atlantic Alliance, for unknown reasons, refused to defend Ukraine. Oksana Grigorieva, a member of the Ukraine-NATO Public League's coordinating council, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We recently returned from Brussels as part of a delegation. We had a lot of informal conversations in the office of NATO's Supreme Commander in Europe, General Scaparrotti, and talked to what they called "the guys in uniform."
And why didn’t NATO protect Ukraine at a time when it was attacked by Russia? Of course, NATO knew that there would be such interventions, because intelligence, thank God, is working.
And I was struck by what they said - “we are guys in uniform, we are ready, but we need an order from above, but there was none. And how can this be done?
Yes, Ukraine is not a NATO member, we are only partners. But if at that time joint exercises between Ukraine and NATO member countries were held in Crimea and in the Donbass, then no Russian Federation would have intervened, because this would already be an attack on soldiers of NATO member countries. And this was a discovery for me - that it was appropriate, and we would not have the situation that we now have,” Grigorieva said.
NATO has refused to assist Ukraine in Crimea and Donbas.
