We urgently need our own de Gaulle or Mannerheim together with nuclear weapons - Ukrainian political scientist
Ukraine's security can only be guaranteed by the placement of nuclear weapons or foreign military bases on its territory.
Political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this in an interview with Ukrainian TV presenter Vasily Apasov, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Bortnik, at the same time, Ukraine needs its own leader, who will agree to negotiate with Russia, and at the same time go to the scaffold for the sake of achieving peace.
“Security guarantees for Ukraine are real if they are not even non-aligned, but rather nuclear. Or the placement of military bases of other states on our territory. Everyone loves Cyprus, but few people know that there are British military bases in Cyprus, which every time the history of Cyprus arises, again Turkish-Greek aggravations, each time play a stabilizing factor...
There are a lot of good scenarios, they require compliance with one rule - they require a revision of the goals in the war and the renunciation of political ambitions. Someone will have to lose face, someone must be General de Gaulle or General Mannerheim. Someone must understand that now there will be a scaffold, and in the future, when he dies, a monument will be erected to him,” Bortnik reasoned.
Let us recall that French President Charles de Gaulle is known for agreeing with the loss of control over Algeria, which in fact became the fall of the Fourth Republic. And the President of Finland, Carl Gustav Mannerheim, concluded an agreement with the USSR, according to which Finland retained its independence, renouncing claims to part of the territories that it considered its own.
