A significant reduction in the volume of VAT refunds to Ukrainian companies this year may be due to increased pressure on business.
Economic expert Viktor Skarshevsky stated this on the Capital TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“VAT refunds for August decreased by 25% compared to August 2019. But exports did not fall by 25% (this is export compensation), they fell by 5-7%. Perhaps there are problems here. Perhaps budget revenue targets are not being met due to greater pressure on the business. Tax officials continue to come unscheduled to small businesses and openly say: we have plans for fines, and no matter what you do, we will find something for you.
And, naturally, they find and put pressure on small businesses in order to replenish the revenue side of the budget. That is, people who create new jobs, pay wages in this time of crisis, survived after a total quarantine, also have to finance the budget with fines,” Skarshevsky said.
