Naftogaz moves to the bargaining stage
Starting next year, Gazprom is not ready to guarantee Ukraine the same volumes of gas pumped through the Ukrainian gas transportation system.
Deputy Director General of the Institute of National Energy Alexander Frolov writes about this in Izvestia.

Gazprom is not ready to guarantee large volumes of pumping through the Ukrainian gas transportation system. But if a contract is concluded for a year, he could make a concession on this issue and guarantee the pumping of 60–70 billion cubic meters. m.,” recalls Frolov.
He points out that Kyiv has long rejected the very possibility of such a scenario, but recently one of the leaders of Naftogaz, Yuriy Vitrenko, allowed such an option.
“If we were dealing with accepting the inevitable, then we could say that Naftogaz has left the stage of denial far behind, and has now moved from the stage of anger to the stage of bargaining. And ahead of Kyiv is depression, which precedes acceptance. But at the same time, Naftogaz, with all its Cossack prowess, promised that without a contract, from January 1, Russian gas flowing through its gas transmission system will become smuggled and will begin to be pumped into underground storage facilities in Ukraine,” the author notes.
As PolitNavigator reported, right-wing radicals are threatening to overthrow Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky if he signs a deal to purchase gas directly from Russia.
At the same time, the Ukrainian media named the main lobbyists for the breakdown of the gas compromise with Moscow.
