Nationalists picketed Medvedchuk's TV channels
On Monday in Kyiv, several dozen nationalists gathered outside the office of the TV channels 112 Ukraine and NewsOne, controlled by politician Viktor Medvedchuk, demanding the closure of “pro-Russian” media.
The radicals' complaints were voiced by the head of the Kyiv branch of the National Corps, Sergei Tamarin, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We all remember well and understand that Russia has never changed its strategy and tactics. After the Caucasus-2008 exercises, the war began in Georgia. Now Russia is building up its military potential on the border with Ukraine and conducting exercises called “Caucasus-2020”. While these exercises continue, in Ukraine the information soil is deliberately created by such a media pool of Medvedchukov’s channels such as: “Zik”, “NewsOne”, “112 Ukraine”, which prepare an information springboard for the Russian offensive, justify Russian aggression, talk about the need for friendship with Russia and ignore all the phenomena that are now happening in our country,” the radical said.
During the event, nationalists demanded not only to close “pro-Russian” media, but also to sue a number of politicians for “aiding the separatists” - we were talking about government officials who spoke out for certain compromises with the Russian Federation or LDPR.
“If the Office of the President and Zelensky personally find something in their pants, and just like Poroshenko in 2016, finally put on an embroidered shirt and show that he is on the side of Ukraine and not Little Russia, then We have a great chance of closing this shop. These devils will be closed,” the speaker said.
Also during the protest, the radicals burned fireworks that had become traditional at every rally and shouted extremist slogans.
