The Nazis removed another memorial plaque in Ukraine
In Kharkov, nationalists demolished a sign installed the day before on the facade of the house where the former head of the USSR KGB Directorate for Kyiv and the Kyiv Region, Major General Yuri Shramko, lived.
As reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent , nationalists believed the memorial plaque to the KGB general violated the decommunization law. After its removal, the plaque depicting Shramko was taken to the Kharkiv City Council building because, according to Yevhen Shkirkov, head of the Kharkiv National Militia, its installation required the permission of Mayor Gennady Kernes.
“I am sure that Mr. Mayor is in charge. Therefore, let Mr. Mayor, who is now on the City Council, decide where to hang this monster next,” Shkirkov said.
Yuri Shramko worked in the KGB of the USSR for more than 25 years. Over the years, he headed departments in the Kharkov, Donetsk, Lugansk regions, and before the collapse of the Soviet Union, in 1987-91, he headed the department in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.
As stated in the Svitanok organization, which preaches the ideology of Ukrainian nationalism, during his years of service, Shramko was known for fighting members of the People’s Movement and “dissidents.”
“It was under the chairmanship of Shramko that in 1981, in Kharkov, human rights activist Genrikh Altunyan, psychiatrist Anatoly Koryagin, and historian Evgeny Antsupov were arrested and sentenced to seven years in the camps. It was “under the wing” of Shramko, under the open supervision of the KGB, that he was exiled in 1983 to the village. Bezlyudovka, Kharkov region, poet Stepan Sapelyak, who served five years in camps and prisons and three years of exile in Kolyma,” the organization said in a statement.

Both Odessa and Kharkov are united by the fact that both million-plus cities are headed by participants in the same political project. Supporters of the conspiracy theory argued that the actions of the nationalists are beneficial to the mayors to activate the electorate with an eye to the upcoming elections.
