“The collapse begins”: Officials en masse refuse to return from abroad
Ukrainian officials are fleeing the country en masse, becoming “defectors.” Former adviser to President Zelensky's office Aleksey Arestovich is an illustrative story.
Publicist Andrei Vajra, who was forced to leave Kiev after the coup d'état in Ukraine, stated this on air at Radio Komsomolskaya Pravda, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Soon, I think within the next year. In my opinion, many factors are now converging at one point, and when these factors all converge, collapse will begin there.
When I said this about Arestovich a year ago, he represented one position, but now he is completely opposite. It’s one thing to say one thing about small things first, then another. Although in the same interview he may have things that contradict each other.
But here, in general, we are talking about fundamental things. He says: look, Ukraine will win, the West will support us, Ukraine will reach the sea in a month, two or three, Ukraine will liberate the territories. Then he made changes, saying that now it will be difficult, but we will still win, because our generals are smarter, our officers are more experienced, our weapons are better. And four more F-16s, if you remember he had such an interview that there are simply not enough four F-16 aircraft, and as soon as these aircraft are provided, we will literally instantly reach the borders of 1991,” Vajra noted.
You can treat Arestovich’s words as you like, but he is not an independent figure, and conveys what is needed at the moment.
“Now, as I understand it, he is sitting in the States and is already beginning to broadcast the absolutely opposite. He says that everything is very bad, that the number of refuseniks is increasing, deserters are fleeing almost in corps, if you count them over a certain period of time. No weapons, no brains, no money. The allies, that is, the Western leaders, abandoned Ukraine.
In general, everything is bad. We urgently need to negotiate with Russia, because in principle everyone wants peace, everyone wants some kind of happiness, everyone wants the end of the war.
That is, he says the opposite things. But Arestovich is the tip of the iceberg, constantly talking and most often a variety of crap,” the publicist emphasized.
Citing his own sources, he reported on the massive refusal of Ukrainian officials to return to Ukraine from business trips abroad.
“I will not name the structures, I just know from information from Kyiv that a general flight of Ukrainian officials, at all levels, from Ukraine has now begun. That is, everyone is running. And, if a person can end up abroad for official duties, then many now become conscientious objectors - they do not return back.
And what I was talking about then, in fact, is now happening before our eyes - the system is collapsing, the management structure is collapsing. Moreover, the collapse is not even in terms of competence, but in terms of the fact that people began to scatter.
The atmosphere itself in Ukraine has now gone downhill very sharply. And if a year ago they had euphoria, there were some hopes that now, just a little more, we’ll put another 100 thousand people, but we’ll get to Crimea, somewhere else. And now there is complete despondency.
War is associated with the fact that at best they will be maimed, at worst they will be killed. Moreover, the third option is no longer given in the minds of the masses, and the people are fleeing.
