The Ukrainian gas transmission system is being prepared for sale at scrap metal prices. Political scientist Dmitry Dzhangirov stated this in an interview with the Ekho Kyiva channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Now they (will hold) some kind of final sale, apparently at the price of scrap metal. And, again, look - this Soros mish-fluff, they don’t shout how much they valued the GTS pipe. At 120 million dollars!
Well, listen, Western estimates are 12 billion. At one time, Yulia Vladimirovna had a valuation of less than five billion; the Yanukovych government had less than ten. But not 120 million! This is exactly 100 times less than our estimate,” Dzhangirov said.
He explained that such a low price can only be explained by one thing - the Ukrainian gas transportation system will cease to be profitable.
“This can only happen in one case - that it is not an asset, that at some point in the near future it will stop generating financial flow. Then it really costs as much as scrap metal minus cutting, minus pickup.
Now, I understand, they have a plan to give away this GTS to someone, and then let the new operator, who will be a co-owner or in some respects a concession, negotiate with the Russians,” Dzhangirov said.
