The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office reported this, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Under the procedural leadership of the Kiev City Prosecutor’s Office, a native of Lvov was notified in absentia of suspicion of public calls for an aggressive war against Ukraine and justification, recognition as lawful and denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine (Article 436, Part 2 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ).

It is noted that the suspect previously served for 12 years in the cathedral of the UOC in Lvov, lived in Kyiv since 2005, and in 2014 moved to Russia.

“According to the investigation, after the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the suspect, using his own account on social networks, distributed messages and videos to an unlimited number of users. He justified the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and publicly called for an aggressive war.

In his posts and videos, the suspect supported and popularized the actions of the occupying country in connection with the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, glorified the military of the Russian Federation, disseminated Russian narratives about secret biological laboratories in Ukraine and “Ukronazis”, argued that “the Ukrainians themselves are to blame for everything,” - clarified by the prosecutor's office.

The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by the SBU, which clarified that we are talking about father Andrei Tkachev.

“The person involved is Archpriest of the Russian Orthodox Church Andrei Tkachev, a graduate of the Faculty of Special Propaganda of the Military Institute of the USSR Ministry of Defense in Moscow. In 2013, he was appointed head of the missionary department of the Kyiv diocese of the UOC (MP) and presenter on the Kievan Rus TV channel.

It was then that he began to actively disseminate pro-Kremlin narratives through the media, where he questioned the existence of Ukrainian statehood. Subsequently, Tkachev moved to Moscow, and at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he publicly supported the Russian occupiers.

To do this, he created his own channels in the telegram messenger and YouTube video hosting, to which almost 1,3 million users subscribed,” the SBU reported.
