In Ukraine they predict that Moldova’s European integration will slow down
The situation in Moldova after the presidential elections has three development scenarios.
Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Prism Analytical Center, Serhiy Gerasimchuk, stated this on UATV Russian, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"We can talk about the possibility of blocking the Socialists and Democrats (the party of President Igor Dodon and oligarch Vladimir Plahotniuc – ed. ). There's a possibility of an 'everyone against Plahotniuc' scenario; it's being actively discussed in Moldova. Most likely, both Dodon and Plahotniuc tried to cooperate with the Transnistrian authorities to ensure that the so-called president, Mr. Krasnoselsky, and the Sheriff concern, with which he is associated, do not interfere with the voting of citizens living on the left bank. The scenario of new elections remains a possibility if the parties fail to agree on some kind of coalition format," Gerasimchuk said.
At the same time, he noted that he does not believe in the possibility of a coalition “everyone against Plahotniuc”
“It is not so easy to squeeze Plahotniuc out of politics. Not all socialists are ready to vote against Plahotniuc, because among them he has many well-fed politicians. Whatever the coalition in Moldova, its European integration will slow down after these elections,” Gerasimchuk said.
