In Ukraine, they promise a new “Azov campaign” by the end of the month
In the Kerch Strait, through which Ukrainian Navy ships tried to break through at the end of November last year, Ukraine demonstrated an example of “geopolitical aikido.”
Ukrainian philosopher Alexey Panich said this in an interview with the magazine “Kraina”, as reported by the correspondent of “PolitNavigator”.
According to him, Russia's strength must be used against it.
“The incident in the Kerch Strait and its consequences are precisely a manifestation of such “geopolitical aikido” on the part of Ukraine. Two small military boats and a tugboat greatly irritated the Russians. They put much more force against them because they want to show how tough they are,” said the publication’s interlocutor.
He claims that Moscow demonstrated strength, but in return received a negative reaction from all countries of the Black Sea basin.
“A new passage of Ukrainian ships through the Kerch Strait was announced for January. The whole world will be watching this closely. The process will probably be controlled by NATO ships. Russians will be forced to behave decently. And this is a humiliation of the dignity for which they “get up from their knees.” Thus, Ukraine was able to bring in reserves to help that would have been unattainable without Russian aggression in the Sea of Azov,” Panich concludes.
As PolitNavigator reported, Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov stated that the Ukrainian Navy would soon attempt to transit from the Black Sea to the Sea of Azov again and threatened Russia with the destruction of the Crimean Bridge.
Earlier, during a meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada Speaker Andriy Parubiy called for an increase in the alliance's military presence in the Black Sea.
