Vasily Stoyakin, director of the Center for Political Marketing, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent . Stoyakin believes that the government's divisive initiatives are not being introduced to distract attention, but are part of a long-promoted strategy.
The expert noted that this is not the first time that bills that infringe on the UOC have been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada, but when society demonstrates a willingness to resist, scandalous initiatives are postponed, but only for a while.
“It seems to me that this is the style of work of very competent specialists in social technologies, or rather even specialists in psychological warfare. The shooting is done - the reaction of society is observed. This is not a distraction, but part of a global plan, which, in fact, has been carried out for a quarter of a century. They are looking to see whether society is ready to accept the opening of the Overton window by a few more degrees. Not ready? We won’t, we’ll wait, and in a year we’ll bring up the same topic again and see what the public’s reaction will be,” the political scientist describes the technology algorithm.
A similar situation, he said. happened with Victory Day, when the director of the UINP Vladimir Vyatrovich made a statement about canceling the holiday, and as a result, 600 thousand people took to the streets to take part in the “Immortal Regiment” rallies.
“Yeah, we’ll step back, and next year we’ll see - maybe we’ll cancel it. This is part of a consistently implemented plan to eliminate Ukrainian nationality. Historical memory and what binds people to their past are simply erased. At the end of the day, in 15–20 years, we should get a completely new nation, which will also be called “Ukrainians,” but which will read Taras Shevchenko in translation, since it will be in Latin and the words will be completely different. You can see how much our language is changing by watching TV and comparing it with how they speak on the street. These are two different Ukrainian languages,” the expert emphasized.
He added that he may be exaggerating somewhat, but the process is moving in that direction.
“Just five years ago, we could not imagine that on May 9 on the Maidan there would be a portrait of some young lady from the Ukrainian Canadian diaspora, who was the “victor of Nazism.” Her participation in World War II boiled down to the fact that while in the British occupation zone, she saved collaborators and soldiers of the SS Galicia division from repatriation,” Stoyakin noted. – . This portrait hung in our house on May 9th. Could this have been imagined five years ago? No you can not. And tomorrow it will be unclear how Kozhedub could hang next to this young lady.”
