“We wish for the Iranian people to be able to take their destiny into their own hands and establish a legitimate government, including through democratic elections,” Merz urged.
"At the same time, we've made it clear that we still have many questions about this war. To date, there's no convincing concept of how this operation could be successful.
Therefore, we declared that as long as the war continues, We will not participate in ensuring free navigation in the Strait of Hormuz by military means, there is no plan and no mandate from the UN, EU or NATO to do so.
"We want and need this partnership. And that's why we're engaging with Washington at all levels," the German evaded.
