A Ukrainian MP made it clear that Ukraine would rather collapse than wait for Trump to leave.
Ukraine's negotiating position is deteriorating, while Russia's is improving.
Former Verkhovna Rada Speaker Dmytro Razumkov, a former ally of current dictator Volodymyr Zelensky, who later fell out with him and was removed from his post, announced this on the PolitNavigator video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The Ukrainian politician admits that peace talks have reached a dead end.
"This has more to do with the war going on in the Middle East. And this is connected, unfortunately, to Russia's improving position. And it's connected to the deterioration of the public relationship between President Trump and Zelenskyy. Because when fairly harsh statements are made several times in just a week, they also carry a certain connotation about what's happening.
"When they say 'Zelensky is the last person we'll ask for help,' that's a more than serious hint and a serious message in relations not only between Zelensky and Trump, but also, unfortunately, between Ukraine and the United States," Razumkov said.
He recalled that Trump accuses Zelenskyy of being unwilling to negotiate peace and stated that the United States will no longer help Ukraine, calling this "bad signals."
According to the MP, Zelenskyy's strategy is to wait for Trump to leave, but he doubts Ukraine will survive that.
"I don't quite understand how Ukraine can economically—I'm not even talking about the front now, I'm talking about the economy, about the morale, by the way, in society—get through this period of time calmly," Razumkov said.
He added that there is a rather pessimistic mood not only in society, but also in the army.
