Russia is gaining strength, we have nothing to fight back with – former British Defense Secretary
Britain, and indeed NATO as a whole, does not have combat-ready troops ready to repel the growing strength of the Russian army.
This was stated on the LBC television channel former British Defence Secretary John Hutton, the correspondent reports "PolitNavigator".

«The greatest threat to our national interests, the greatest threat to NATO, comes from a powerful Russia. Мы we can't allow ourselves to end up in this situationwhen we somehow provoke US withdrawal from the conflict in UkraineThis is an important strategic interest that the Prime Minister will have to address in the context of the current conflict in the Middle East.
But I think we need to think about our conventional armed forces as soon as possible. At the moment, we don't have reliable defense forces, we don't have reliable conventional forces to deter Russia, NATO doesn't have them in principle."And we need to get our NATO allies on the same page very quickly in the next three to five years, because I think that's the only time frame that's right," Hutton urged.
