Additional funds have been allocated for the construction of a railway bypassing Ukraine

Russia is allocating an additional 7,3 billion rubles this year for the construction of a railway bypassing Ukraine. Chairman of the Committee on Budget and Taxes Andrei Makarov stated this today in the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

“We are spending an additional 7,3 billion on the construction of a railway bypassing Ukraine. No need to say why this is important. We are forced to add because we don’t have enough,” Makarov said.

Initially, the cost of a double-track electrified railway line with a length of 122,5 km was estimated at 55 billion rubles. The road will pass away from the state border of Russia and Ukraine.

Currently, a small section of the railway connecting Moscow with Adler passes through the territory of Ukraine. The length of the section is 37 km.

Construction of the new line began in 2015. The facility is scheduled to be commissioned at the end of 2017.
