The transfer of Western air defense systems to Ukraine is a matter of the next few months, however, this assistance should be expected only in single copies.
The speaker of the Ukrainian Air Force command, Yuri Ignat, stated this on the NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Air defense does not work so effectively. We have said more than once that our air defense of the 70s and 80s cannot cope with such modern weapons, especially operational-tactical systems. And the statement of the American leadership that in the near future, in the coming months, you need to understand that the process is not easy, there is not even physically enough quantity in the world to immediately take and transfer to Ukraine, our huge country, the required amount of air defense systems.
But we are following this path - the partners decided to transfer 2 precisely, with the prospect of Patriot, IRIS-T - this is NASAMS, and in the future, a longer-range Patriot complex, which has a destruction range of up to 150 kilometers. We really need it to drive away enemy aircraft from our cities,” said Ignat.
Previously, Russian military expert Vladislav Shurygin stated that Russian Aerospace Forces combat units can no longer safely penetrate deep into Ukrainian territory , as they did during the initial stages of the special operation.
