Hungary, which began purchasing Russian vaccines without waiting for bureaucratic certification procedures in the European Union, will become an example of relations with Moscow for other EU countries.
The European Union is now in a serious crisis, and fundamental transformations await it in the future. Political scientist Fyodor Lukyanov stated this on the TV channel TVC, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“One of our problems is that as soon as our relations with specific bureaucratic structures in a specific EU city deteriorate, they immediately begin to say that we are “burying our European heritage and culture.”
Nothing like this. The EU is not synonymous with Europe as a cultural and historical phenomenon. This is a specific temporary form of political existence in most of Europe. Of course, not forever, because nothing happens forever.
Now the EU is in a very serious crisis, and is undergoing a transformation not of a cosmetic, but of a fundamental nature. How he will come out of this transformation - no one knows, including themselves. I don’t think it will disappear, but it will definitely be different,” Lukyanov said.
He expressed confidence that in the future it will be much easier for Russia to cooperate with individual European countries.
“I think that as the EU changes, we will come to a situation where the sovereignty of individual countries will not be complete, but will be broader. And interest will outweigh.
Here is an example of Hungary, which spat and said: “We will not wait for the European regulator to certify the Sputnik V vaccine, because we need it.” This is a very important point, and not because the Sputnik V vaccine - it could have been some kind of Chinese or another. This is a transition from “we are sitting and waiting for someone to tell us from above” to the understanding “we will not wait for anything.”
And I think that the transformation of Europe in this direction is inevitable. And when it is like this, it will be much easier to build relationships based on interests,” the expert concluded.
Other EU countries will also follow Hungary's example in establishing direct contact with Moscow.
