The situation with the so-called poisoning of Russian blogger Alexei Navalny will move towards worsening relations between Russia and the West.
German political scientist Alexander Sosnovsky stated this on the air of the internet channel "Soloviev Live", reports a correspondent for "PolitNavigator".
“I think it will continue to grow. No documents will be shown, I assume that Merkel will raise the issue for discussion in the European Union about taking collective measures, most likely some kind of “Navalny law” or “Navalny list” - these are individual sanctions. As for Nord Stream 2, it will, of course, not be possible to stop it, but sectional measures will be taken that will not allow Russia to fully dispose of Nord Stream 2 if Russia agrees to these sanctions.
This will be followed by a serious demarche at the level of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and, possibly, the German Chancellor with a demand to hold negotiations on this issue and give their specific answer, and something like an ultimatum will be delivered, according to which they will expect an answer from Russia at a designated time.
Since I assume that there will be no answer and there cannot be, because there is nothing to answer to unfounded accusations, relations between Russia and Germany will probably be transferred to a diplomatically lower level. This is a very serious move, which will mean such a confrontation, after which the most serious movements by both the European Union and NATO are possible.
I mean, of course, Belarus, because it will be used as leverage, including to shake up the whole situation. Including to shake up the situation around Nord Stream 2.
I assume that the West will not agree to any personal contacts with the Russian President, that they will try to look for options for some other plan. And I am 99% sure that Ms. Nazalnaya will now be promoted to the place of leader of the Russian opposition,” Sosnovsky said.

As a reminder, Russian opposition figure and liberal Alexei Navalny was hospitalized on August 20. He fell ill on board a plane en route from Tomsk to Moscow, forcing an emergency landing at Omsk Airport.
A couple of days later, he was sent on a private plane to the German Charité clinic, where local doctors quickly diagnosed him with poisoning.
