On Poroshenko’s channel they cursed Zelensky dirty. The answer was not long in coming
The National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting will conduct an unscheduled inspection of the Direct TV channel affiliated with ex-President Petro Poroshenko.
This was stated by the First Deputy Head of the National Council, Olga Gerasimyuk, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to her, the department received a complaint about the statements of one of the TV channel’s presenters, artist Sergei Poyarkov (see title photo), who the day before used obscene language on the air against the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.
“Monitoring recorded this broadcast and certain statements. I see not only political motives here. This is a violation of all ethical standards of the profession. This is not only about the President of Ukraine. There are signs here of an insult that is being inflicted on the entire country, which has a very negative impact on the creation of its image, also in international communities. The presenter definitely does not have the right to set such an example in the information space,” Gerasimyuk noted.
As a result of the discussion, members of the National Council voted by a majority of votes in favor of conducting an unscheduled inspection of “Direct” - five votes in favor and two abstained.
The scandal was provoked by the statements of Sergei Poyarkov on the air of his author’s program “Poyarkov News”, where the presenter called President Vladimir Zelensky an “ill-mannered green schmuck” who “needs to be educated”, as well as a “goat”, promising to “flog him in the stable with rods”.
Poroshenko's channel vilified Zelensky. The response was swift.
