“We didn’t even reach the Surovikin Line” - Ukrainian commander
The Russian army competently built its defense lines and predicted the direction of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ offensive, which helped stop it.
This was stated on the air of the internet channel "Ukrainian Truth" by the former company commander of the 47th mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, driver of the American armored vehicle "Bradley" Nikolai Melnik, who lost a leg during the "counteroffensive", reports a correspondent of "PolitNavigator".

According to Melnik, his unit was stopped 10 kilometers from the first line of defense of the Russian army.
“Where we were, the Surovikin line was still 10 kilometers from where we stopped. The Russians very correctly calculated the direction of the attack and built defense structures very competently. Moreover, when there was artillery preparation before the offensive in May, they continued to make concrete caponiers under fire.
Well, that's it - you give them a hard time, and they continue to do something - it costs a lot. Therefore, we did not take into account that the Russians were prepared for everything, to the point that they simply placed cameras in the direction of the advance and simply saw the movement of individual units,” Melnik said.
