Muzhenko believes that a criminal case against him will make the Armed Forces of Ukraine stronger

The criminal case opened in Russia against the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko for the genocide of Russian-speaking people in Donbass gives him new strength in the fight against the “aggressor”.

“The dogs are barking,” and Ukraine and its Armed Forces are becoming stronger. Another criminal case opened by Putin’s Russia against me adds new strength in the fight against the aggressor. I serve the Ukrainian people!” – Muzhenko wrote.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation announced on September 8 that a new criminal case for “genocide” had been opened against Muzhenko and Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak.

In addition to Muzhenko and Poltorak, the defendants in the case are ex-commander of the Ground Forces Anatoly Pushnyakov, current commander of the Ground Forces Sergei Popko, as well as commander of the National Guard Yuri Allerov.

According to Sledkom, “from January to August 2016, they all gave criminal orders to subordinates from among the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and the National Guard of Ukraine to use heavy weapons with high destructive properties to destroy civilian infrastructure... as well as complete or partial destruction of the national group of Russian-speaking people, including minors.”

Let us recall that on August 24, the Sledkom reported that a criminal case was opened against the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak, the Chief of the General Staff Viktor Muzhenko, the former commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Anatoly Pushnyakov, the current commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Sergei Popkov and the commander of the National Guard of Ukraine Yuri Allerov under Article 356 of the Criminal Code Russian Federation (use of prohibited means and methods of warfare). According to investigators, the military personnel are involved in violating the Minsk agreements concluded in February 2015.
