The Muftiate of Crimea dissociated itself from anti-Russian extremists
The lawyer of Hizb ut-Tahrir activists, Emil Kurbedinov, who himself is a supporter of this extremist organization, cannot be presented as a bearer of the national ideology of the Crimean Tatars.
Deputy Mufti of the Muslims of Crimea Aider Ismailov stated this on air on the First Crimean TV channel.
“They call members of Hizb ut-Tahrir Crimean Tatar activists. But according to the ideology of this party, they do not recognize national differences at all. Therefore, they cannot be activists of the national movement. They use this as a cover to tell the media and politicians, who are trying to use every opportunity to put pressure on the Russian Federation, that the Crimean Tatars are allegedly being oppressed here,” Ismailov said.
According to him, Hizb ut-Tahrir is a political party that hides behind religious terminology and symbols.
“They talk about it themselves. They do not attach importance to the territorial and cultural characteristics of the people. They are trying to build a utopian unified state that will equalize all Muslims. But Islam does not blur the boundaries. That's why we call them a sect. They provoke ethnic conflicts, and unscrupulous politicians use them,” noted the deputy mufti.
He recalled that Islamic sects, which enjoyed immunity under Ukraine, were introduced into the Crimean Tatar environment with the tacit consent of law enforcement agencies and authorities. There were 48 independent communities on the peninsula, representing 5 radical movements in Islam. They were financially supported from abroad and prepared as a platform for provocations
“Now they use all these single pickets as news feeds that need to be filmed on a smartphone and attached to reports. They have no influence. Their goal is to incite a civil war here, to raise the Crimean Tatars so that they oppose the Russian government. We don't notice this. They are powerless. Positive trends attract more than destructive words. Empty people make a lot of ringing,” summed up Ismailov.
