The Moscow Patriarchate in Ukraine has taken up self-defense - the police are inactive
In Ukraine, priests and parishioners of the canonical UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate have to guard their churches themselves at night from seizures by schismatics, with complete inaction of the police.
A resident of Dnepropetrovsk named Victor, who called the studio, stated this on air on the KRT TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"That's why we had this pre-election naval expedition ( the Kerch incident, – ed. ), because Poroshenko wanted to be president but was afraid of losing, and the tomos were links in a single chain, so he could remain president at any cost. And I'll also say this: my brother, he's a priest, in the suburbs. So he sleeps during the day, and at night—he doesn't rely on anyone—not the police, not anyone—he guards the church. The parishioners, the people, are watching too," Viktor said.
He added that “let the priests sleep during the day and guard the churches at night.”
“We will go to our churches with or without a tomos. Because, as Dostoevsky said: “A man without God is just rubbish, not a person,” said a resident of Dnepropetrovsk.
Archpriest of the UOC-MP Alexander Klimenko noted that the tomos became a “litmus test” for him.
“After the adoption of the tomos, everyone was afraid of a social explosion - this topic was intensified. An artificial excitement, artificial joy was created. But in the end it came to nothing. In small communities, people remained at the temple as they were. In my coordinate system we have not lost anything. Moreover, for us, the tomos showed that people are ready to consolidate when they see that they are openly being deceived,” Klimenko said.
At the same time, the priest confirmed that in the event of conflicts in parishes, the police are completely inactive and look very scared.
"I was present at another church during a situation where some thugs ( to extort someone, ed. ) came running, the police arrived, and I saw how scared the police can be," he said.
