Fraudsters from Ukrainian call centers have taken on Poland
A citizen of Ukraine, under the guise of a bank employee, was engaged in Internet fraud in Poland.
The Polish portal CyberDefence reports this, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The police detained a Ukrainian involved in the fraud of a “bank employee.” An 18-year-old has been charged. He faces 8 years in prison. This is a lesson for all of us.
It is noted that since November last year, the police in the Polish city of Otwock have been investigating a case of fraudsters extorting money using the “bank employee” method.
“The course of action was not surprising. After answering the call, victims learned that their savings in their accounts were allegedly under threat and the only way to protect them was to follow the caller’s instructions. One of the men lost more than 33 zlotys,” the publication describes the plot of the case.
After the investigation, it turned out that the traces of the crime led to Krakow, after which the details of one of the scammers and his location were established.
“Finally, on one of the streets of Krakow, police officers detained an 18-year-old citizen of Ukraine. Then they searched the place where, according to the police, the detained fraudster had recently been located,” Polish law enforcement officers said.

The detainee was charged with fraud and was given a preventive measure in the form of detention for a period of 3 months.
The perpetrator faces imprisonment for up to 8 years.
