In June 2015, a fraudster from Kirovograd, introducing himself to a new acquaintance as a soldier from the ATO, managed to convince her that nothing protects her from enemy bullets like a gold pendant on a gold chain. A kind-hearted girl gave him this “amulet”, which saved the young man, who neither worked nor studied anywhere, from wind in his pockets. But the story didn’t end there, and the next time, with promises and requests, he lured his victim’s computer away, supposedly so that he could communicate with her via the Internet from the ATO itself.
But the computer turned out to be not enough. And now the scammer needed another gold amulet, this time a bracelet.
The court valued the girl’s violated patriotic feelings at three thousand hryvnia, and the fraudster himself let go released with a year of probation.
