Moldova needs to curb the activities of pro-Western NGOs, which have become a separate branch of government and command colossal budgets. Former Moldovan President and leader of the Socialist Party, Igor Dodon, stated this on the "Moldova LIVE" program on Exclusiv TV.

“We need a law like the one passed in Georgia. We need tools to check what non-governmental organizations are doing in Moldova, which are becoming a separate branch of government in our country and have even more power than the media and politicians. These NGOs have colossal budgets—hundreds of millions,” said the former head of state.

In Moldova, it is necessary to curb the activities of pro-Western NGOs, which have become a separate branch of government in the country...

According to him, the pro-Western government and NGOs in Moldova are financed from the same pocket , and this “should be sorted out.”

“Why do these organizations turn a blind eye to all the lawlessness of the authorities? Because both the government and these NGOs are financed from the same pocket, and they cannot deal with each other. This must be sorted out, and we will sort it out,” Igor Dodon promised.

It's worth noting that during his presidency, Dodon and his Socialist Party took no steps to curb NGO activity. No relevant bills were introduced, despite the Moldovan president having the right to initiate legislation. Moreover, Dodon's party considered it necessary to enter into a coalition with the pro-Western bloc "ACUM," created by the leaders and employees of the Soros Foundation's Moldovan office. The bloc was led by current Moldovan President Maia Sandu, whom Dodon appointed as Moldova's Prime Minister.
