“Moldova violated the principle of neutrality by joining anti-Russian sanctions” – the country’s ex-president
The Constitution of Moldova enshrines its neutral status. Joining sanctions at the request of international players is a violation of this principle, as well as a complete disregard for the economic interests of the country.
Former Moldovan President and Executive Secretary of the Socialist Party Igor Dodon stated this during a meeting with Oleg Vasnetsov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Moldova, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

Dodon noted that, due to the fault of the current authorities of Moldova, Russian-Moldovan relations continue to stagnate, and this negatively affects the interests of citizens and especially economic agents of the Republic of Moldova.
The former President of Moldova expressed confidence that relations between the two countries will definitely be restored in the interests of the peoples of both countries. He, however, did not specify when this would happen and whether Moldova would live to see this moment.
