The “Hammer” mortar is back in service: Armed Forces soldiers died from a shell exploding in the barrel
During the shelling by the Ukrainian unit of the territory of a village not under the control of Kyiv in the LPR, another mine of the notorious Ukrainian “Hammer” mortar detonated directly in the gun, taking the lives of the punitive forces.
The official representative of the LPR People's Militia, Yakov Osadchiy, spoke about this at a briefing, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“The low quality of the Ukrainian Molot mortars and their inadequate maintenance during daily use once again led to “non-combat” losses among the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The 13th mine, aimed at the residents of Kalinovka, was the last in the lives of two militants who died as a result of a mortar explosion. Two more privates were injured and taken to a medical facility with mine-explosive injuries of moderate severity,” Osadchiy said.
He added that, by order of the brigade commander, the bodies of the dead were urgently taken to an unknown direction, and the report to the higher command did not mention their deaths.
“As a rule, the personal data of such dead militants can be found out from the materials of criminal proceedings, based on the facts of desertion of military personnel from the Joint Forces Operation zone, which will be opened by the military prosecutor’s office of Ukraine in the coming days,” explained the representative of the defense department.
Let us note that before this incident it was previously reported that from 2016 to this day there was a more than a hundred ruptures Molot mortars, which killed more than 80 Ukrainian militants.
This was recognized by one of the founders of the Azov National Battalion, Andrei Biletsky. He stated that within a year from the explosion of low-quality Ukrainian Hammer mortars Dozens of Ukrainian soldiers have already died, but the command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attributes these cases to “enemy shelling.”
Similar data was voiced by Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Taras Pastukh.
However, one of the main lobbyists for the production of Molot, Sergei Pashinsky, being the head of the Verkhovna Rada Defense Committee, stated that criticism of mortars is the machinations of the FSB.
“We live in a state of hybrid war with Russia, and they inflate any of our problems through Russian or their own TV channels, through all sorts of, excuse me, journalists who sell their journalistic ethics. We must say what it was, and what we as a state must do to ensure that this never happens again...
This undermines our defense capability. Because the FSB cliques in embroidered shirts are shouting that the weapons that our state makes and gives to soldiers at the front are of poor quality,” Pashinsky was indignant.
