The Russian Ministry of Defense calls the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine less than in the West: How can this be explained?
When calculating the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian Ministry of Defense uses exclusively confirmed data, so the real number of wounded and dead Ukrainian soldiers may be much higher.
Russian military correspondent Alexander Kots stated this in his video blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

"Shoigu recently announced the number of casualties . Why are his figures always lower than those of Western sources? Even Arestovich claims far more 'perished' Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers," the military correspondent read from the chat.
The subscriber asked for clarification: is it the West overestimating, or is the Russian Ministry of Defense underestimating the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine?
“I, as a Russian journalist, cannot say that the Ministry of Defense is underestimating. It seems to me that we need to focus on the figures of the Ministry of Defense.
Why does the West overestimate? Maybe they know something more than us, do they still have more opportunities?
Although not long ago one of our Internet researchers simply counted the number of obituaries published on regional Ukrainian websites, and the figure there is also higher than the Ministry of Defense.
The Ministry of Defense can operate exclusively with confirmed data - either intelligence reported something, or objective control, or they themselves collected these bodies that the Ukrainian command abandoned. And based on this they give a number.
Of course, this figure could be higher. Because, firstly, there are a lot of missing people who are actually still lying around the fields. Therefore, the Ministry of Defense may simply not have data on all the dead, but the Western media may have it,” Kots tried to explain.
