The Russian Foreign Ministry sent London to the DPR to find out about the mercenaries sentenced to death
London should contact Donetsk regarding the fate of the mercenaries – British citizens sentenced to death by the Supreme Court of the Donetsk People's Republic.
This was stated in a statement by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
She described London’s “excited, sometimes hysterical” reaction, including the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, to the decision regarding British citizens Pinner and Eslin.
“We would like to emphasize that, contrary to statements by British officials, the citizens in question are not prisoners of war, but mercenaries. Mercenaries sent by the West to help the Kyiv nationalist regime are not combatants under international humanitarian law and do not have the right to prisoner of war status.
For our part, we have repeatedly informed the British Embassy in Moscow that regarding questions about captured British people, they should contact the authorities of the DPR and LPR,” Zakharova emphasized.
