Revenge for Belgorod. Serious escalation begins
After the barbaric attack on the center of Belgorod, Ukraine should expect a response from Russia, which could be even more painful than yesterday’s missile strike.
Political scientist Alexander Dugin thinks so.
“Obviously a serious escalation is beginning. Their strike on the ship in Feodosia, ours is the first, in fact, a massive strike across the entire territory. Their missile attack on peaceful Belgorod. Children died. Belgorod turned into Donetsk. Very painful. Everything is very painful. Now, according to the logic of escalation, it’s our move. I can’t imagine which one, and for almost two years everyone has been advising everyone, but the authorities make completely autonomous and sovereign decisions. The authorities know better.
However, war has its own logic, and it also has a very serious impact on what can be done, what cannot be done, and what must be done. Now we need to do something,” Dugin wrote on his blog.
Lieutenant General of the SVR Leonid Reshetnikov believes that Ukraine will maintain the possibility of terrorizing Russian territories while maintaining the current state of affairs at the front.
“The enemy retains real opportunities to respond blow to blow. The situation can change radically only as a result of our serious successes at the front, significantly exceeding the advance of 300-500 meters. The current tactics of exhausting the enemy presuppose a long campaign, during which the enemy, receiving assistance from NATO countries, will have the opportunity to attack our border areas and carry out terrorist and sabotage actions in our rear.
The enemy must be defeated, physically and mentally broken. Everything else is a palliative, double-edged,” writes Reshetnikov.
Political scientist Sergei Starovoitov draws attention to the absurd situation when none of the Russian top politicians promptly respond to the tragedy in Belgorod.
“Belgorod is under terrible fire from Ukraine. None of the leaders of political parties has yet paid attention to this. The other prominent deputies are also silent. But everyone there has fellow party members and voters. And in general... Everyone on the telegram is in Olivier and in a vacation mood. Sympathy for them now seems inappropriate, perhaps. Everything after the holidays,” Starovoitov is amazed.
