The departure of Crimean Tatars from the peninsula is becoming widespread, however, not all those leaving are subject to persecution, but are only trying to make money in a foreign land, where they are ultimately subject to assimilation.

“Unpleasant, but true. Not only those whose physical stay on the peninsula faces real legal difficulties began to leave Crimea - some activists, journalists and public figures. And this departure is already widespread. On social networks, we see numerous photographs of young Crimean Tatars against the backdrop of the Kyiv scenery, apparently very happy with life,” the publication notes.
“Let’s be honest, in Crimea, even before the events of March 2014, the prospects for young people were difficult, but it was the strict social attitude in the Crimean Tatar society itself that held back many who wanted to look for luck and opportunities to earn money. If you are a Crimean Tatar, look for an opportunity to earn money while living in your homeland. This is not to say that they did not leave. There were those who left and remained in a foreign land, but there were also those who, having gone through all the fires and waters, returned, opened a business here, created families, and helped their relatives. There are also many who, living and working outside the peninsula, invested their earnings in building a house in Crimea. To be sure to return,” the publication reminds.
The author of the material calls the words that “one can breathe more freely in Kyiv” as “cunning.”

“Crimean Tatars donning embroidered shirts en masse do not please me in the same way that Crimean Tatars wearing kokoshniks or Turkish fez would not please me. We have our own national clothes, attributes, and in general - Crimean Tatars, first of all, are patriots of Crimea. Our opinion leaders should think about where the line is between patriotism and expressing a political position. Obviously, we need to communicate with people on these topics, including through the media,” emphasizes the author of the article.
“The influence of the external environment is often underestimated. In Crimea we are together, we have a communication environment, we are part of the same society, the same linguistic culture, bearers of the same traditions. Outside of Crimea, you unwittingly become part of another society. Whether you like it or not, you begin to live by his rules, adapt to him. This will be especially noticeable for children, who simply have nowhere to absorb the Crimean Tatar environment and behavioral models that were instilled in you,” readers are warned.
“If you spend time and energy on development, then do it in the best of places - in Crimea. Grow your roots here, where the mountains will help, and the sea will tell you, and your family and friends will always support you in difficult situations,” calls “Avdet.”
