Medvedchuk told how he was afraid of LPR tankers who “have not received their salaries for a long time”
During the exchange of prisoners between the LPR and Ukraine in 2015, a tank drove to the demarcation line near Debaltsevo and pointed its gun at the participants in the exchange.
Ukrainian politician, Chairman of the Political Council of the For Life party Viktor Medvedchuk spoke about this on the 112 Ukraine TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“When I took people from Debaltsevo in 2015, they were lined up, I approached them, there was a lot of Russian press, there was no Ukrainian. And here stands a column of one hundred people. I came up and talked to the guys.
And here we stand: one of the leaders of the People’s Militia of Lugansk, someone else from the administration - there are four of us. We stand and wait for the miners to arrive and check the path along which we must go - no one was engaged in demining, just to check,” Medvedchuk began.
According to him, at that moment a tank appeared, pointed a cannon towards the people, and the LPR officers standing next to the chairman of the Ukrainian party began to talk about whether the Luhansk military personnel had received their salaries.
“And then a white painted tank drives out from the village, on the other side of the highway, and begins to turn the gun in our direction. Standing here is the leader of the Afghans of Lugansk, standing there is the chief of police, and also Nikolai from the administration. And the police chief asks: “Nikolai, don’t you know if these (names part) were paid their salaries yesterday?” At first I thought that I was being scammed, but then I saw that this was not a joke. But he answered: “It seems they should have paid,” and looked with some alarm.
I later told this story to my friends. Some laughed, others said: “Well, that’s it in general... Anything is possible there.” Yes, anything,” said the Kiev politician.
