“The West has unleashed a real information war against Russia. The world has moved from the era of information to the era of disinformation. The hysteria of Western countries accusing Russia of aggression and of allegedly preparing an attack on Ukraine is off the charts. And, as always, without any reason or evidence. In fact, behind this fog of lies and deceit there is an active military development of Ukraine, accompanied by the supply of offensive, including lethal, weapons to the country instead of implementing the Minsk agreements,” Matvienko said.
She considers an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the LDPR likely.
“The current Kiev regime is most likely hatching plans to once again try to solve the problem of Donetsk and Lugansk by force, planning various kinds of provocations on the recommendations of its Western masters, in order to then once again blame Russia for this without evidence. Therefore, an orchestrated lie about Russia’s aggressive plans is literally driven into the consciousness of the world community,” the politician believes.
According to her, negotiations with the West are progressing difficultly.
“We have not yet received an adequate written response to our fair demands for guarantees of Russia’s security, a ban on NATO expansion to the east, and the refusal of Ukraine and Georgia to join NATO. Negotiations are moving slowly and difficultly,” Matvienko said.
