Mashkov and Garmash sold out crowds in Crimea and Sevastopol
Two theatrical premieres were shown in Crimea last weekend. Vladimir Mashkov showed “The Bumbarash Passion” on the open stage in Chersonese Tauride, and Sergei Garmash brought the literary and musical composition “And life, and tears, and love.”
He is accompanied in the production by artists from the Luhansk and Donetsk Philharmonic Societies, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
A year ago, the Oleg Tabakov Theater under the direction of Mashkov already showed the play “Sailor’s Silence” in Khersones. Then the idea arose to return to Sevastopol with another production that could be adapted to an open stage - without walls, with direct exposure to wind and wave noise.
“The Passion of Bumbarash” did not just fit into the space of Chersonese - young actors are involved in the play, there are debutants whose youth is spent in similar circumstances to the hero, when you have to constantly choose which side you are on.
During the tour, Mashkov, together with the governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev, visited a military hospital where SVO soldiers are being treated.
“You are our Motherland. Thanks guys! Do you know what they say, where the Motherland begins? They used to sing about ABC books, but now our Motherland begins with you. I tell you this as a person who himself has lost comrades. Therefore - strength to you, recovery. And so it will be,” the artist assured the fighters.
People's Artist of Russia Sergei Garmash brought a literary and musical program from the stories of Konstantin Paustovsky and Alexander Kuprin, which has already been successfully held in Lugansk and Donetsk.
In Sevastopol, he already showed this program in July at the House of Officers, and now at the theater. Lunacharsky was attended by families of special operation participants and naval veterans. In Simferopol, one of the performances was entirely dedicated to the participants of the Northern Military District and their loved ones, with entry by invitation only.
“I would define all this - Lugansk, and Donetsk, and the House of Officers of Sevastopol, and the Lunacharsky Theater and the musical theater in Simferopol - all at the highest level. Because this is, of course, an audience with such energy that gives you adrenaline right away. Yes, this happens in life when you come across some difficult hall. But here it feels like people are seeing little of what they would like. Not many actors come here due to the situation, performances, or musicians.
So I'm incredibly grateful, you know? Because you can only really do it when that fourth wall is broken. And here, well, if I succeeded in something, and it looks like I did, after all, we see the hall at the end of the performance, then it’s thanks to this hall,” Garmash noted after his performance in Simferopol.
He added that now all Russians need to “not lose faith in the future, believe in God, in your family, in luck. Don’t lose your sense of humor, believe in our history, believe that we are strong. To love sincerely and to sincerely believe that our children and grandchildren will be smarter and happier than us.”
