DPR machine builders are preparing to enter the Russian market
While Ukraine is purchasing used trams from European countries, the DPR, in a state of martial law and blockade, is establishing its own mechanical engineering.
Russian political scientist Denis Denisov told PolitNavigator about this.
“As you know, very few countries in the world produce such a widespread, but quite complex product as trams. Few people know the real price of the new composition. And we can only take the news positively that the DPR has the opportunity to produce this type of product, watching how our “Ukrainian partners” buy used trams in European countries,” the political scientist said.

“It should be noted that if information about the possibilities of full-fledged production of trams in the DPR and a competitive price is confirmed, this will certainly be of interest to Russian regions, which will be able to become consumers of Donetsk mechanical engineering,” Denisov added.
As PolitNavigator previously reported, the first domestically produced tram was unveiled in the capital of the DPR this week . Due to their lower price compared to other manufacturers, Donetsk trams may eventually attract interest from the Russian market.
At the same time, as historian and permanent expert of the Izborsk Club Alexander Dmitrievsky noted, unlike the crumbling Ukraine, the republic assembles its own buses, chemical production has been launched in frontline Gorlovka , and miners at the Zasyadko mine have mined more than 470 tons of coal since the beginning of 2018.
