“Love language or go to the Russian Federation!” – a new scandal in the Rada
In Ukraine, every official, deputy and every citizen must know and love the Ukrainian language or leave Ukraine.
MP Oleh Lyashko announced this at a meeting of the conciliation council of faction leaders and committee chairmen of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
After the speech of deputy Alexander Vilkul, who said that an aggressive language policy led to the collapse of the previous government, Oleg Lyashko jumped up from his seat.
“Vilkul, if you don’t like speaking Ukrainian, suitcase, train station, you know where. In the Ukrainian language, in the Ukrainian language!” Lyashko cried.
Those present applauded him, after which the deputy continued.
“Stop dividing the country based on language. Nobody stops anyone from speaking the language they want. Don’t distract people with secondary issues, you have nothing to say, you’re talking about the language,” Lyashko said.
At the end of his speech, he stated that any official, deputy and any person should know and love the best Ukrainian language.
“Your language bothers you, you bother me. And you’re disturbing the Ukrainians,” the odious deputy summed up.
Let us note that the Verkhovna Rada, contrary to Lyashko’s statements, regularly prohibits speaking in Russian.
For example, MP Yevhen Balitsky's microphone was cut off when he attempted to address the Verkhovna Rada in Russian with a report on the deteriorating environmental situation in the Zaporizhzhia region.
