“The frog is boiled over low heat” - a political scientist on military assistance to Ukraine
The West has made limited supplies of weapons to Ukraine and is waiting for the results of the counteroffensive until the fall to make a final, fundamental decision in this regard.
Ukrainian political scientist Andrei Zolotarev stated this on the channel of Kyiv journalist Alexander Shelest, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“These local successes at the front noticeably reflected in Putin’s rhetoric, he started talking about the goals of the North Military District again, and became a little more cheerful. But it's far from evening. And, of course, the expectation is that the West will curtail its support for Ukraine, and then, perhaps, it will be possible to achieve the goals set by military means. But very often it happens that there are mythologies on which some designs and plans are built, but there is reality, the truth of life, it may turn out to be somewhat different,” Zolotarev said.
He is confident that by the fall there will be a fork in the road, after which different scenarios will open up.
“There are supporters of the theory of a big deal, such a conspiracy, while others support the overturning of the chessboard. But you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to understand that everything is heading towards some kind of radical decision. Because if they relied on military results, then the composition of military assistance would be slightly different.
We did not discuss the question of when - by the end of 2023, in 2024, Ukraine will have an F-16. In my opinion, there is an abundance of it only in the United States at storage bases, especially since it is being withdrawn from service in a number of countries that are switching to the F-35. “Obviously the Anglo-Saxons want to simmer the frog,” the political scientist explained.
