Lviv deputies are crying: The Russian army is stronger
It is necessary to do everything possible to join NATO and create an anti-Russian international coalition, but one must also be prepared for the fact that the West, as it has been doing for the last seven years, will only express concern.
Deputies spoke about this at a meeting of the session of the Lviv Regional Council, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Military exercises can be nothing more than attempts to advance Russian occupation forces deep into the territory of Ukraine,” Eurosolidarity deputy Oleg Duda assured his colleagues. – It is obvious that Russia is once again preparing provocations to aggravate the situation on the line of contact between the parties in Donbass. We are confident that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are capable of giving a worthy response to the aggressor.”
“But against the backdrop of increased military activity, the country’s leadership must intensify efforts as much as possible in the defense and security sectors to gain the opportunity to become full members of NATO. In connection with this, we call on the country’s political leadership to intensify their actions aimed at the fastest possible integration of our state into NATO, as well as building a broad coalition of Ukraine’s international partners aimed against Russia’s aggressive actions,” the deputy added.
“We also ask you to consider the possibility of making changes to the state budget of Ukraine to increase the amount of money for the implementation of programs to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capability,” Duda urged.
In turn, the former head of the Lviv Regional Council, and now an EU deputy, Alexander Ganuschin, recognized the superiority of the enemy, but had high hopes for changing the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the better over the past seven years.
“Just like 7 years ago, Russia is definitely stronger than us now. Just as 7 years ago, so now, the West will express concern, and deep concern. But there is one significant change over these 7 years - the Ukrainian army. Therefore, I am sure that no matter what the Russian armed forces do on the Ukrainian border, no matter what military maneuvers take place, everything will be fine with us. Glory to Ukraine!" - said Ganuschin.
