Lukashenko will become a “living god” of the CIS – if the virus does not kill Belarusians
Citizens of the CIS allegedly do not comply with the quarantine regime, so “ordinary residents are wondering whether there was any point in such a strict regime.”
Political scientist Alexei Dzermant, who is close to the Belarusian president, wrote about this on his Telegram channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“The point probably was and still is, since not everywhere the health care system is as strong as in Belarus,” says Dzermant.
He predicts the emergence of a cult of the President of Belarus if Minsk manages to “avoid collapse.”
“If it works out, Alexander Lukashenko for many will become something like a living god, who managed to preserve the Soviet legacy and use it against one of the greatest dangers to humanity in the last 30 years,” the political scientist wrote.
At the same time, he admits that if Belarus fails, “the reputational blow to the president will be catastrophic, but his neighbors will look favorably against his background.”
“Whatever you say, the light has fallen like a wedge on Lukashenko,” Dzermant sums up ironically.
