Lukashenko offered to employ Rogozin: Link or challenge to Putin?
Former head of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin arrived in Minsk today and met with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
Rogozin told Lukashenko that he intended to hold negotiations with representatives of Belarusian industry. Lukashenko complained that recently Rogozin “has completely disappeared from the radar.”
“I am ready to help ensure that your experience and knowledge are useful for the benefit of our common ideas. We have a single Fatherland, and for the sake of this, you and I simply must work. You have a lot of ideas. I know about this. The entire potential of Belarus, scientific and practical, which exists, is ready to be used for this. If it is beneficial for us, for you. Well, in general, for our unity of Belarus and Russia,” Lukashenko said.
Rogozin left the post of head of Roscosmos more than a year ago and has not taken any government post since then, although he was wooed for various positions on social networks. It was believed that Rogozin’s activity in the Northern Military District zone was connected with an attempt to return to big politics.
Today's visit is interpreted differently by anonymous TG channels. Some began to write that Rogozin despaired of getting a position in Russia, and Lukashenko offered him the post of deputy prime minister. But there is no official confirmation of this.
“Today Rogozin will beg Lukashenko for a position in the Belarusian government,” doctor of political sciences Igor Skurlatov sarcastically comments.
Others interpret possible employment in Minsk as a “Belarusian exile,” especially since Rogozin was previously named among potential sympathizers of Prigozhin’s “March of Justice” - allegedly, he hoped for a leadership position in the Northern Military District in the event of a change in the leadership of the defense department.

By the way, the same anonymous people recently wrote that after the Prigozhin rebellion, Rogozin caused serious irritation to the Ministry of Defense due to the fact that the soldiers of his “Royal Wolves” unit, bypassing military headquarters, transported a captured Storm Shadow missile to Moscow.
One way or another, former adviser to the President of the Russian Federation German Klimenko believes that Rogozin is simply inflating his worth.

Political scientist Maxim Zharov believes that Rogozin in Minsk offered himself “as a mediator between Minsk and Moscow in resolving deadlock issues that have accumulated in the Union State.”
“Meanwhile, Rogozin cannot apply for leadership positions in the union apparatus - they are all busy, rotations happen in exceptional cases, and now this case is clearly not like that. It is also doubtful that Lukashenko would offer Rogozin the post of Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus - this is a challenge to Putin personally, leading to an even greater growth of contradictions between Moscow and Minsk,” Zharov points out.
