Lukashenko: The Embassy in Russia is the second government
Deputy Prime Minister of the Belarusian government Dmitry Krutoy will become the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia.
Today, he received a message from Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“The Embassy in Russia is the second government. From an economic point of view, this is absolutely accurate. Therefore, in a conversation with the President of Russia, I said that you are a promising person. Your fate and, in many ways, the fate of the Republic of Belarus depends on you. The situation in the embassy apparatus must be structured in such a way as to determine what tasks will have to be solved there,” Lukashenko said.
He called on the diplomat to focus his work on solving economic problems.
“You had to absorb all the president’s ideas regarding Russia. This is our main direction in economic terms. As for politics, there is no talk here. This is our native, friendly state. You know what needs to be done there. The main thing is the economy. If there is an economy, everything else will happen,” Lukashenko admonished.
He stressed that the sovereignty of Belarus is not threatened by Russia.
“The West is giving us ideas that we are almost losing sovereignty and independence by cooperating with Russia. In Russia, the sovereignty and independence of our state are permanent things. This is not even discussed. The President of Russia is absolutely sane and understands in which direction we should move. By preserving the independence of Russia and Belarus, we will be able to build a union that both federal and confederal states can envy. Or maybe even unitary,” Lukashenko noted.
Krutoy told reporters that he sees his task as establishing a system of mutual settlements in national currencies, obtaining terminals in Russian ports for Belarus, and launching high-speed trains between Moscow and Minsk.
“The most important ambassador to Russia is our President. My task is to implement,” the diplomat said.
