Lukashenko: Europe will choke on migrants if it doesn’t give money to Belarus
The European Union prefers to transfer money to Belarusian oppositionists rather than finance the needs of migrants concentrated on the border of Belarus and Poland, because in the second case there is no possibility of appropriating part of the funds.
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko announced this today during a visit to the transport and logistics center near the Bruzgi border crossing, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We spent 12,5 million dollars on all these events, but they transferred only 260 thousand to our Red Cross. They are so vile. Do you know why the money doesn’t come? Our fugitives are sitting there now. They received funding in stages. It went through Lithuania and Poland.
There were filters there that sucked out this money. We don't have them. You need to give directly, and this money will only go to people. They won't stick to your hands, there are no intermediaries. Therefore, they are thinking about who to transfer the money through in order to steal half of it,” Lukashenko said.
He demanded that the European Union renew the readmission agreement, which was broken after Belomaidan. According to it, money was regularly transferred to Minsk for border protection. Otherwise, the migration crisis will continue.
“The problem will be an order of magnitude higher if the Afghans rush here. Through Ukraine, including. And there they will let anyone through for a penny, Europe will choke if they don’t hear us and solve the problem now,” Lukashenko said.
