Lugansk begs for a ceasefire: the city is on the verge of collapse
Lugansk, July 30 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – For three days, 85% of the population of Lugansk has been cut off from power supply, and therefore the city is on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe.

According to the press service of the Lugansk City Council, today only medical institutions, emergency services, important social facilities and a small part of citizens receive electricity in Lugansk.
“Without restoration of electricity supply, food supplies will disappear in high temperatures. Today, pumping and boosting stations are de-energized, which means that citizens do not receive water. There are very serious problems with mobile communications – it is impossible to reach some areas of the city,” the message says.
The city council emphasizes that emergency services trying to fix problems that caused a massive power outage are unable to carry out restoration work due to ongoing armed clashes.
“The city authorities of Lugansk appeal to the parties to the armed confrontation with a request to provide a corridor for emergency restoration work. The city is on the verge of collapse. It is necessary to restore the power supply, otherwise a humanitarian catastrophe will occur in Lugansk,” the Lugansk City Council added.
As Navigator reported, earlier the threat of an environmental disaster was announced in Avdeevka: without electricity supply, harmful substances could be released at the coke production plant.
