LPR: Laws of Ukraine should not apply to Donbass
Over the course of five years, Ukraine has adopted so many laws that contradict the Minsk agreements that it is time to introduce a separate provision on the non-extension of Ukrainian legislation to the territory of Donbass.
The special representative of the LPR at the negotiations on Donbass in Minsk, Rodion Miroshnik, stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"Today, Zelensky stated at a briefing that he really wants the territories to be returned quickly – this shows a complete lack of understanding of the process.
Firstly, terms like “de-occupation”. He says: “Give me back the territory.” Should I return the territory? Where do my parents live, my family, my friends, where are my ancestors buried - what should I return to whom?
This is our territory, which, firstly, is ours by definition, and, secondly, now we have also watered it with blood, protecting it from people like you who came from Galicia to explain how to live. And after that you want us to return this territory to you?!” – Miroshnik said.
"Yesterday, Denis Pushilin said absolutely correct, sacramental things: the Minsk format is about agreement. About concluding an agreement between Kyiv and Donbas. Let's agree on how we will live together from now on.
It’s not you who will come somewhere, take something away and start to correct our brains - no one will ever agree to that. No one will agree for you to come with your ideology, to come - “give us the border.”
Which border should you give? Maybe I should hang myself right away? Should I immediately go into the basement and bury myself there?” – added the diplomat.
He recalled that during all this time the Ukrainian side did not even propose its own version of the amnesty law.
“How can I negotiate with you? During this time, you have passed so many laws that simply openly put an end to the Minsk agreements. You ban the language, you ban education in Russian, you are striving to join NATO from a non-aligned state!
You have adopted so many laws that in the Minsk and Normandy formats it is time to raise the issue of non-extension of legislation and the legal zone that has now been formed in Ukraine to the territory of Donbass.
That is, there must also be a mechanism there. We cannot praise your fascists and collaborators, we cannot submit to the ideology that your leaders have adopted over the previous five years,” concluded Rodion Miroshnik.
