“Minister of Defense” of the self-proclaimed “President of Belarus” Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, Valery Sakhashchik, said that Russia and Belarus are “preparing a blitzkrieg against Vilnius using nuclear weapons.”
He said this at a rally in Warsaw dedicated to the nationalist holiday "Freedom Day," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The West is confident that a military catastrophe awaits Russia. The Kremlin also understands this, and therefore they are studying options for the use of nuclear weapons,” Sakhashchik said.
According to fugitive political scientist Roza Turarbekova, Lithuanians are already in a state of fear.
“I see that Lithuanians are really worried. They are preparing for war. Pictures of their grandfathers, who fought as part of the “forest brothers,” emerge before their eyes. They are well aware of their limited resources. These conversations are indeed circulating intensively in Lithuanian society. They are preparing for this and have been purchasing weapons since 2022, and the defense forces are conducting exercises. They won’t be able to put many people under arms and they don’t really count on NATO,” Turarbekova said on Euroradio, commenting on Sakhashchik’s words.
She claims that Russia has been pushing Belarus towards confrontation with Lithuania for a long time. To do this, she gave a loan for the construction of a nuclear power plant on the border of the two states and is now forcing the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to conduct exercises there.
“Luke himself doesn’t want to. This is all a show. But Moscow is behind us, it can do something that could cause a border incident. I don’t exclude this,” Turarbekova pressed.
