Vilnius - Kyiv, March 26 (PolitNavigator, Vasily Ablyazimov) - Lithuanian politician Zbigniew Jedzinski recalled that the anti-government riots in Vilnius that took place in 2009 were harshly suppressed, and the perpetrators were punished. At the same time, similar protests in 2013 in Kyiv were actively supported by the same Lithuanian authorities who had recently suppressed demonstrations at home.

On his Facebook page, Edzinsky wrote: "For all supporters of revolution and upheaval, it's worth remembering that in January 2009, the Lithuanian-style Maidan was suppressed. After the so-called 'night reforms,' the conservatives reduced pensions and benefits. And the people, led by trade unions and allied with the 'Frontas' group, stormed parliament."
Edzinski reproached the current Lithuanian authorities for cruel hypocrisy. The riots of 2009 were suppressed in Vilnius.
“As it has now turned out, the ruling coalition at that time violated the Constitution of Lithuania by reducing wages and pensions.”
Let us remember that Poland and Lithuania became the most active supporters of the Maidan.
