The liberal stripped naked and ran around Red Square - he declared it an “artistic event”
Ilya Kachaev, who considers himself an “action artist,” ran naked around Red Square in Moscow today and was detained by the police.
Kachaev, according to his version, tried to interpret Dostoevsky’s story “The Dream of a Funny Man.” The idea of the action is the confrontation between man, as a part of nature, and the state.

“Russia is a country of the shrunken,” said Ilya Kachaev. According to him, people have to constantly squeeze themselves together - in the subway, at work and even at home.
The actionist wanted to show an open and happy person who finds himself on a planet of downtrodden and disillusioned people in life.
“It is obvious that liberals simply have nothing to offer the people of Russia,” Left Front leader Sergei Udaltsov commented on the incident.
Earlier, another liberal, Pyotr Pavlensky, held an equally “original” action on Red Square, nailing his scrotum to the paving stones. He subsequently received political asylum in France. However, Pavlensky was soon arrested in Paris in October 2017 - he committed arson at a branch of the Bank of France, also declaring it an “artistic action.” The examination discovered that Pavlensky had several mental disorders.
